BUILDING LIVES THROUGH STEPHEN'S MINISTRY

Want to make an impact on someone's life? Are you a caring person gifted in helping hurting people? Consider becoming a Stephen Minister! Calvary Church’s Stephen Ministry equips lay people to provide confidential one to one Christian care to individuals who are experiencing difficulties in their lives. It is an amazing opportunity to reach out and really make a difference in the lives of people within our congregation and community. When you sign up to become a Stephen Minister; we fully prepare you to meet the needs of others through a life changing training course. The training will not only equip you with the skills to help those who are hurting but it will deepen your walk with Christ. You will gain more insight about yourself and will acquire skills that can be used in your personal life. One of our ministers was able to use their Stephen's Ministry training to save the life of a family member:

"The Stephens Ministry training has given me many valuable life saving tools. About four months ago my brother was going through some difficult things in life. One night before he was going overseas to visit family, I gave him a call to see how he was doing. I sensed that something wasn't right and started asking key questions to see if he was going to commit suicide. I came to the conclusion that he would probably try to kill himself if I got off the phone. I stayed on the phone until we were able to get help by his side. At the time, I didn't realize it, but I had interrupted him when he was trying to hang himself. If it were not for God having put me through this training, I could not say that my brother would be alive today. Thanks to God and the Stephens Ministry, my brother is alive and has a different outlook on life."

We're here for you! If you are interested in becoming a Stephen Minister stop by the Stephen’s Ministry Table in the lobby after service this Sunday or contact Nicole Symcox at NSym7@aol.com or at 408.356.5126 ext 246.
