WILL YOU GIVE A CUP OF COLD WATER?

Every day, children die simply because they have no clean water to drink. Wells that provide clean drinking water are scarce. Many rural villages in Southeast Asia have no wells at all. People are are forced to drink water that is full of parasites that cause dysentery and even death.
Throughout this month Calvary Church has joined the Advent Conspiracy. As we spend less on presents this Christmas season and give towards the Advent Conspiracy, we have the opportunity to provide water for the neediest villages in the world and show them the love of God in a unique and tangible way.
Through our partnership with Global Staff member Radha Manickam, Calvary will help save lives by funding two wells near rural villages in Cambodia. Each well will be build near a local church and water will be offered free of charge to people coming from surrounding villages. Currently, people in these villages have to walk more than one kilometer to draw water from a pond or lake during the hot season.
This life-saving ministry draws people to Christ as the Cambodian Christians offer a cup of clean water in the name of Christ. The gift of water is a simple expression of God's love for the people of the community. The people in Cambodia are primarily Buddhist but are becoming increasingly open to Christianity as the few, but strong, Christians express God's love in practical ways.
You can participate in the Advent Conspiracy by choosing to buy at least one less gift this season. Donate what you save to the Advent Conspiracy on Sunday, December 20th.
