Advent Conspiracy Kids CALVARY KIDS LEAD CONSPIRACY

A conspiracy is brewing at Calvary — one so irresistible that it has permeated even our children's department. The Advent Conspiracy, which encourages people to purchase one less gift this Christmas and donate the money toward water wells in Cambodia, has inspired even children too
young to purchase gifts to give sacrificially. So far the children's department has raised an amazing $120.28.

Teela and Alissa Hamner provided a glimpse into the loving hearts of our children. These six-year-old twins have been doing chores to raise money. From their piggy banks, divided into sections for saving, spending, donating and investing, the “donating” funds are going straight to the Cambodian project, with a bonus of a matching gift from their parents (Kris and Ursula Hamner).

These delightful young ladies are impressively well-informed. When asked what a well is, Teela promptly replied, “It's something that gives you water.” Her sister Alissa added, “People in Cambodia get sick because they don't have clean water. A lot of kids die.”

The girls have been helping to clean the house, wash the dishes, and wash the family cars. While Teela's favorite chore is washing cars, Alissa enjoys making her bed and arranging her stuffed animals.

“It makes me sad that kids have to die,” commented Alissa thoughtfully. And Teela summed up the entire spirit of Calvary's project: “We just came to love the people who need help. We feel for them and want to give.”

Now that's Christmas spirit!

Candlelight Services

CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICES
December 24 | 4pm, 6pm, & 8pm

Join us on Christmas Eve this year as we celebrate the birth of Jesus with 3 identical candlelight services. With special music and video presentations, we'll look at what it means to WORSHIP FULLY the King of kings. Bring your family and friends and end the year focusing on what is truly most important.

Birthday for Jesus!

December 24 | 4:00pm & 6:00pm

It's a birthday party! Kids 5 and under are invited to attend a special birthday party for Jesus on Christmas Eve during the 4pm and 6pm candlelight services. This birthday party will include games, craft and a special story time. Kids will also have the opportunity to sing Happy Birthday to Jesus and decorate cookies!

While your parents are enjoying special music and presentations at the candlelight service, come join us for a fun birthday party!

There is no charge, but this event is for kids 5 and under only.

Shining Stars Tree

SHINING STARS' TREE SPARKLES IN CHURCH LOBBY

At this time of year the Calvary Worship Center is decked with beautiful lights, garlands and Christmas trees, all decorated by talented hands as we celebrate the birth of the Son of God. In the lobby there is another tree. It doesn’t exactly glow and the hands that created it needed assistance.

This poster board tree lovingly decorated with “handprint” branches was created by the Shining Stars and their siblings who took part in the December Shining Stars Respite (a fun, safe program for children with special needs and their siblings). These special kids present this tree as a message of love and appreciation to you -- our Calvary family -- for your support of this ministry and all the volunteers who given their time as Star Tenders to our special kids.
