STUDENTS AND PARENTS UNITE TO PRAY FOR OUR YOUTH
By: Kelli O'Gorman,
Last week Los Gatos High School students were stunned to learn that another student, a high school senior boy, had died. This is the fifth death of a Los Gatos student within the last year. Saddened by another tragedy, a group of parents were moved to action. This past Sunday they gathered students, parents, and youth leaders for a time of corporate prayer between services. “With all that has happened we need to pray for change in our community, a change for our students and a true change that comes from God.” said Andrew.
With the leading of James 5:16 that states “the prayers of the righteous are powerful and effective,” a group of about 25 students and adults gathered for 30 minutes to pray for the future of our students. A focused and committed prayer time for our students, united as a body of believers, was inspirational because of the presence of the Holy Spirit with us for the future of our students.
With the inspiration the group experienced praying as one body fresh on their hearts and minds, the Student Ministry team has asked us to continue to meet to pray with them once per month on the first Sunday of each month between services, from 10:15 to 10:45 with the exception of Easter Sunday. We will meet in the second floor lobby of the main Worship Center building and we invite you to join us for our next prayer meeting on Sunday, April 11th. For more information contact, Kelli O'Gorman at kellio@mac.com.
