There is no one more courageous than a parent...especially a mother...praying over their children and boldly acting on their child’s behalf. On this Mother’s Day, we take a look at not only a mother's role, but also the role a family plays in the spiritual development of an individual. As Jesus was born into this earth, God placed him into a family.

This Sunday, May 9th is Mother's Day and what better way to celebrate our moms than with a special baby dedication. Please join us on Sunday as we commit these little ones into our church family.

WILLIAM JESSUP UNIVERSITY CHOIR COMING TO CALVARY!

Pull out your calendar, and find Thursday, May 20 at 7:00pm. Are you free? If you are, come share and evening of music with the William Jessup University Choir & Orchestra, as they stop at Calvary Church as part of their summer tour.

The William Jessup University Choir under the direction of Tom Ruscica performs the best of choral literature to audiences all over the west coast. Each year the group records a full-length album and performs at a variety of venues including William Jessup University events and concerts, local area churches, as well as seasonal concerts. Using both classic and contemporary choral pieces, they strive to stir the hearts of those they sing for.

Invite your friends and family, and join us for an evening you won’t soon forget as you witness the passion these Young Adults have for Christ and for their music. Admission to this event is free!

NEW SERIES BEGINS MAY 18th!

Go deeper and be transformed in the likeness of Christ. Come for a new series: “Living or Existing?” on May 18th - June 8th. “First Appointment” is an on-going Men’s group commited to growing deeper in their faith through deep theology and interactive Bible study. By being better followers of Jesus, men will be better husbands, fathers, workers, friends, and servants.

Men's First Appointment meets at 6:30am to 7:30am every Tuesday. Also, offered on Thursdays at 7:00pm from May 20th - June 10th in D-105. For more information please contact Kevin Osborn at Kevin_Osborn@comcast.net.

Mark your calendars for May 14th! Songwriters around the South Bay are coming together for a special night of worship and to record a live concert album. Come out and support your local songwriters by being a part of the audience for this special live worship concert recording! Original songs written by Andy Gridley, Rob Patterson, Josh Fox, Nicole Avila, Andrew Isaacs, Rob Valderrama and others will be recorded and performed live. God is bringing his church together. Tickets are free. Live recording & DVD proceeds will benefit CityTeam Ministries in San Jose.
