Lead Pastor Search
Back in January of 2018, the Elders of Calvary formed a Pastoral Search Committee composed of 2 elders and 8 members representative of the church at large. This was a decision based directly on Calvary’s Constitution and Bylaws (more info on these below) which essentially state that when a Calvary Lead Pastor leaves for any reason, a committee to find the next Lead Pastor must be formed. Our board of Elders prayed and fasted when making this decision to best seek what God has for His church. They believe God called us to go through this process and that we would see Him move in this time.
Over the course of 2018, the Search Committee, met regularly while they learned best practices for a search process, conducted a demographic survey of our area, initiated a survey of church attenders and church staff, hired a search firm to assist in the search, interviewed internal and external candidates and ultimately made a recommendation of a Lead Pastor candidate.
The Search Committee recommended Mark Riggins as the next Lead Pastor, and the Elder Board affirmed that recommendation. On January 20th, 2019, Calvary members will vote to confirm the call of Mark Riggins in a meeting that will take place after a one Sunday service (10am).

The Pastoral Search Committee developed a profile as a tool to help discover the next Lead pastor for Calvary. This process began with a demographic survey to look at the past trends and future projections for our area and our church participated in a comprehensive survey to best understand the needs of our church and where God is leading us. You can read the profile that was used by the Search Team and the search firm we worked with below.

GET TO KNOW OUR ELDERS
The board of elders are biblically qualified volunteer members of the church and are responsible for many things including maintaining the mission and vision of the church. They seek God's direction in prayer, study His Word for guidance and seek godly counsel as they lead the direction of our church.

BECOME A MEMBER
Curious to know how to become a member so you can actively participate in this process? Membership at Calvary is first and foremost a covenant type commitment – a commitment of both the pastors and leadership and the members of Calvary to pray for Calvary, to be actively involved in the ministries of Calvary, to give their time and treasure towards the growth of Calvary, and an overall dedication to see Calvary thrive. In addition to that comes a responsibility to give input into major decisions of the church. Click here to learn more about membership.
Attend the January 6th membership lab to become a member of Calvary.
CALVARY'S CONSITUTION & BYLAWS
Calvary's Constitution and Bylaws were put in place originally when the church was founded 70 years ago and revisited over the years by the elder board and church members. Their purpose is to set a framework for the church to operate within to allow us to worship God fully and freely. To receive a copy of Calvary's Constitution and Bylaws, email us below.
