Shining Stars Respite

This program is staffed by Shining Stars Classroom leaders and volunteers from Calvary Church. A registered nurse is present at all times. There is no charge for Shining Stars Respite.

Each child is paired with a carefully selected volunteers whose sole goal is to ensure that your child has a memorable evening. Before the families arrive, the volunteers are given their assigned child's cumulative file (respite registration forms and each update) and information about the night's activities.

Included in the evening is supper, games, crafts, special activities like gymnastics, dance, etc, special entertainment, music and much more.

Shining Stars Respite will provide an enjoyable evening for your child with special needs and their siblings.Laughter will be the theme of the evening with a special program by Daffy Dave. Daffy Dave is a magician, juggler, trickster, minstrel, all wrapped up in a loving, hysterical clown character. Our kids will love the audience participation of a Daffy Dave show. OF COURSE, there will be other activities, crafts, games, fun time in the gym and more. Dinner will be provided. All of this in a safe, loving environment giving you the opportunity to take a break knowing your child is having a wonderful time.

Other Programs: Sunday Morning

We meet every Sunday at 9:00am in Room D113. The SHINING STARS CLASSROOM is a safe and loving environment for children with significant special needs who benefit from a smaller classroom size, more individual attention, and curriculum delivered at a slower pace. Here the children experience and learn about God’s love through Bible stories, songs, activities, and art projects.
