Membership Gathering Testimony Information

Below please find information on Testimony Gatherings and what to expect and the heart behind it.

Each group will be hosted by one of our elders or a member from the Leadership Team and attended by 5 people maximum. These gatherings are meant to feel casual and informal. The host will pray for the time, they’ll share their testimony first and then invite the group to take turns sharing theirs.

The heart behind sharing our testimonies with one another is to hear from each other about what God has done in our lives. Your story matters and one of the incredible blessings and opportunities the membership renewal process has created is to share how God has called us into his family.

To help you begin forming your 2-3 minute testimony consider this outline:

What was your life like before you met Jesus?

How did you hear about Jesus?

Why did you decide to begin following Jesus?

What is your life like now with Jesus?

You might alternatively consider sharing what your relationship with Jesus is like now. An outline for that could be:

Share when you accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord.

What is your relationship with him like now?

He’s teaching me ______

I’ve experienced _______

I used to think ______ but now I see _______

Either model above is great, remember, the goal is to bless each other by sharing the transformational work of God in our lives. If it would help to write out your testimony and read it in the gathering, that’s great – please do.

If you have any questions or any concerns about sharing your testimony, please reply to this email and let us know. We want to make it as easy as possible AND encourage you. Your story is powerful and meaningful and other people, your church, need to hear it.

If you are interested in becoming a member, there's time! We invite you to visit calvarylg.com/courses. There you can access Biblical Literacy and request to be a member. Once Biblical Literacy is completed, we will send you a link and password to access the membership course.
