“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” Deuteronomy 6:5-7

Upcoming Events

Preschool Family Gathering // May 31st, 9-11am
You’re invited to a family gathering at Houge Park for those with young kids (infant-5 years old). We’ll have snacks and a chance to connect with other families in the same season of life. If you have any questions, please contact adresden@calvarylg.com.

Promotion Sunday // June 8th
Promotion Sunday will be held on June 8th. This means if your child is in Kindergarten - 12th grade, your child will be considered to be in the grade they will be entering in Fall 2025. As such, they will be invited to participate in the activities attributed to those grades. This has special significance if your child is in Kindergarten, 5th grade, and 8th grade as they will be moving locations:

  • Kindergarteners are invited upstairs to The Zone (1st-5th Grade Room)

  • 5th Graders are invited to the MSM (Middle School Ministries) Room

  • 8th Graders are invited to the HSM (High School Ministries) Room

Opportunities to Serve

Sunday Mornings // monthly
Looking for a place to serve? Join us in making a lasting impact in our kids ministry! Our classrooms are where young hearts grow in faith, and you have the chance to be a part of that incredible journey. Whether you’re leading, helping with activities, or simply offering a helping hand, your presence will make a difference. And the best part? It’s just one Sunday a month. Together, we can encourage the next generation in their walks with Jesus!

If you are interested in serving or would like more information, please click here.

Science Camp // June 9th-13th
Calvary Kids is in need of ten more volunteers to help make this summer’s Science Camp a memorable experience for our kids. Volunteering with this ministry is a fantastic way to make a lasting impact on the next generation. Even if you are only able to serve part of the week, your time and heart are appreciated. If you’re interested in being a part of it, please contact Amy at adresden@calvarylg.com.

An Note from Our Preschool Coordinator

Hey, Calvary Kids families!

“I know that God helps me.” — Psalm 54:4 (NIrV)

Life is full of surprises, especially life with kids. Some of those surprises are joyful and some are challenging. Whether it’s helping with homework or navigating big emotions, it can feel like a lot to carry. But this verse reminds us of a powerful truth: we’re never carrying it alone. Just as we step in to help kids when they need us, God steps in to help us. His help isn’t just for big life things, it’s for everyday moments, too.

This month in Calvary Kids Preschool, we’re learning about how God helps us do big things. We’re exploring four Bible stories: Noah, Aaron, Deborah, and Nehemiah — and seeing how God helped each one of them. These stories remind us that God’s help comes in many ways: through His strength, His people, and His guidance. We encourage you to take a moment this week to share with your child a time when you needed help and how God showed up for you. Even a simple story can help them see what it means to trust God!

Blessings,
Amy Dresden
