Sports and Recreation Ministry Director
Position Summary: The Director of the Sports and Recreation Ministry will oversee and execute the annual Calvary Youth Basketball League alongside consistently innovating, developing, and executing both gratis and fee-based sports and recreational opportunities for those within Calvary and its surrounding community. This is a position with abundant opportunity to innovate and try new things with a focus on connecting in three specific areas:

Scope: This is a full time (40 hours per week) Ministry Staff position that requires weekend hours
Qualifications:
Active follower of Christ exhibiting a teachable spirit and a servant’s heart, demonstrating the fruit of the Spirit in his/her life
Able to be an example of faith to Calvary staff, attenders and those outside the Church
Regularly attends Calvary Church of Los Gatos Sunday Service
Able to work well as part of the overall Calvary team and within the Calvary staff plumblines
Exemplifies entrepreneurial giftedness and administrative abilities
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Direct and oversee the Calvary Youth Basketball League (Winter)*
Manage Open Gyms including recruitment of additional volunteers to develop an intentional ministry to those participating in these programs
Continue to develop additional youth and adult sports and recreation leagues/opportunities, including instructional and ministry focused sports camps for teens and kids, open gym nights, and recreational events for the church and community
Establish and implement systems for recruitment, training, and retention of volunteer ministry leaders including ways to develop volunteer and paid staff members into greater levels of leadership responsibility with Sports Ministries and Calvary Church
Design and implement a system for monitoring and measuring impact of the ministry
Create and execute strategic pathways to establish and encourage next steps within the three areas of connection outlined in position summary
Develop and oversee Sports and Recreation annual budget
Collaborate with other ministry teams to partner with engaging people into the life of Calvary and intentionally connect other ministries with the Sports and Recreation Ministries
Participate in duties and assignments required of all ministry staff
