The Mid-Year Review was a special opportunity to gather as one church in one service and reflect on where God is leading Calvary. Following the vision shared at Night of Vision and Prayer, we came together to celebrate God’s faithfulness, share our progress, and remain accountable to the vision God has given us as we look ahead to what’s next.

If you weren’t able to attend, we invite you to listen below. You’ll also find key highlights and helpful links to take the next steps.

Spiritual Formation

It’s possible to believe in Jesus and still find our lives shaped more by the culture around us than by His Kingdom. The invitation of discipleship is more than knowing about Jesus, it’s allowing Him to form us from the inside out.

As each of us experiences deeper formation in our walk with Christ, that transformation begins to overflow into our families, our small groups, and our communities. Discipleship isn’t accidental. Spiritual formation takes root in intentional relationships and Spirit-led mission, where we learn to follow Jesus together and practice His way in everyday life.

As we continue exploring Spiritual Formation together,
here are three ways to take a next step:

Personal Spiritual Guide

At the Night of Vision and Prayer, we talked about pioneering new ways to develop spiritual formation at Calvary. After piloting personal spiritual guides with a group from our church, we’re extending this to anyone who wants to take a deeper step in their spiritual journey through a life-on-life partnership with a trained guide. Together, you’ll create space to notice and respond to God’s presence and activity in your life as you grow in your relationship with Him.

Midweek Elective

Starting Wednesday, September 16 at 7pm, we’ll gather for an 8-week Midweek Elective that builds on what we’re exploring together in the fall sermon series. Some weeks we’ll go deeper into God’s Word, other weeks we’ll practice spiritual disciplines together, and throughout the elective, we’ll create space for the Holy Spirit to shape and transform us in community. If you’d like to go deeper into what we’re exploring on Sundays, you can register below.

Family Formation Sunday

Sunday, September 20, is an opportunity for parents and kids in 5th grade and younger to worship, learn, and grow together. For this special Sunday, Calvary Kids will not be meeting in their rooms as usual at either the 9am or 11am service. Instead, families will worship together in the Chapel before heading to a hands-on time designed to help parents lead faith conversations with their kids. Through biblical teaching and activities, parents will be equipped to build faith into the natural rhythms of everyday life. You can find more about what to expect below.

If an extra set of hands would help you feel more comfortable participating in Family Formation Sunday, we’d love to have a volunteer come alongside you and your family to support you as you lead your family through the experience. If this kind of support would be helpful for your family, please fill out the request below.

Campus Development

Campus Development continues to move forward. In June, we officially submitted our site plans to the Town of Los Gatos and began the formal review process. The Town completed its first technical review in July, and our team responded to the additional details requested and resubmitted for further review, while continuing to finalize plans for the Chapel and Family Life Center.

While construction has not yet begun, there is significant work happening behind the scenes to prepare for the next phase. Two key pieces will determine when construction can begin: Town approvals and funding. There are still many logistics to work through, particularly related to the sale of the back lot. We’re working diligently to move the plans forward and address what needs to be resolved so we’re ready to move when the time comes.

There are a few ways you can be part of what’s ahead:

  • Stay informed: Find past updates and stay current with Campus Development news by clicking here.

  • Pray: Pray for favor with the Town of Los Gatos, wisdom for our teams, unity in our church, and God’s provision.

  • Consider giving: Prayerfully ask God what generosity might look like for you between now and the end of 2027.

Project 2026 Update // Rwanda Building Project

This year, we partnered with a school in Rwisange Village, Rwanda, to help break the deep chains of poverty and develop a pathway to hope. Our commitment was to build a residential hall and protective boundary wall for the students at the school. After setting a goal of $25,000, more than $30,000 was given within the first 24 hours.

Since then, the project has continued to move forward. The perimeter wall is now complete, providing greater security and helping establish the school as a trusted presence in the community. Four new bathroom and shower rooms have also been completed, and the new dormitory is expected to be finished this week. We’re grateful for the generosity that made this project possible and for the opportunity to invest in the continued growth of the school and the community it serves.
